Diary of Merer

Papyrus rolls excavated in 2012-2013 at Wadi al-Jarf. They are the earliest archaeological evidence for papyrus. The papyrus rolls, the Diary of Merer, date from circa 2560-2550 B.C., from the end of Khufu's reign.

The Diary of Merer describes the last years of building the Great Pyramid of Giza.
